Touched by God’s Little Angel

May 20th, 2007 by Violet

Dear Readers,

How are you? Hope you have had a wonderful week. And you have recharged yourself fully for the upcoming week.

I am sorry I have been away for so long. Have been extremely busy with several projects.

Some of you might have read in the newspapers that we have launched date coaching as an add-on to our current service. After being in the dating industry for 3 years, it has struck me that lunch dating (like speed dating and online dating) is merely a tool. If a person does not have the right skills, he or she would not succeed in using the tool to optimisation. This is where coaching comes in. This service is currently only available to my members, but if you are interested, feel free to drop me a mail. :)

I have also been busy preparing for a presentation that I have just delivered on Friday at SIM. It is under the series of SIM Business Insights. It was a really good experience. Even though I have given quite a lot of talks and speeches, this is one of the firsts where I have been invited to share my entrepreneurial journey. I was pleasantly surprised that approximately 45 people signed up for the talk. And I must say that I had a fabulous time sharing my insights, and getting to know other budding entrepreneurs, and established business people.

At the end of the talk, one person approached me and I think he is one of God’s little angels. He said, “Hey, I just wanted to come by to congratulate you and also to encourage you. I am an entrepreneur myself, and I know that it is not easy sometimes. I just would like to encourage you to keep going. No matter what, keep going. Perseverance will get you there.” After chatting with him, I found out that he’s actually a seasoned businessman. I am humbled that he actually took the time to come to my presentation.

And I am just so touched by his gesture.

That’s all from me for now. I promise to be back with some interesting stories soon. Meanwhile, if you are looking for a good read, check out ‘The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari’ by Robin S. Sharma. It has been a true inspiration for me for the last 2 weeks, reading and rereading some of the powerful insights and wisdoms.

Take care, and catch up with you soon! :)

What do men want, really?

May 4th, 2007 by Violet

Results from the last poll!

The winner goes to Ms Girl Next Door who won 25% of the 107 votes. Ms Sexy & Naughty came in a close 2nd at 24%, followed by Ms Intelligent & Driven. Ms Sporty & Adventurous and Ms Charming & Charismatic took joint last place at 14%.

It has been quite an interesting poll actually, as Ms Intelligent & Driven was leading all the way. The tide started to turn after the 75 votes mark. Then Ms Girl Next Door started to catch up very rapidly. Out of nowhere, Ms Sexy & Naughty overtook Ms Intelligent & Driven! :)

My hubby said that the reason Ms Girl Next Door won is because… deep down, every man wants a girl who’s sweet, friendly, down to earth… who is not too complicated, not too political. Someone who will create a conducive environment at home. Hmm… so that means I am Ms Girl Next Door? :) Hehe!

A new poll is up! In case you missed it… and this month’s poll is… What is the biggest first date turn off? Go Vote! :)

A Revelation!

May 2nd, 2007 by Violet

Have been having so-so days for the past 2 weeks… feeling slightly lethargic and down.

Until suddenly, I had a revelation… while being in the lift just now. A scene of those action thrillers flash through my mind. You know where the lift suddenly suspend in mid-air, before crashing down. Or the lights will start to flicker, and go off.

And I realised that… actually, we have a lot of things to be thankful for!

Because in our daily lives, there are actually so many things that can possibly go wrong.

So, from this minute on, I have decided to be thankful for each and every small miracles in my life. :)

rainbow.jpgWhether is me being able to come to work safely everyday, or getting home to see my little babe, or the phone lines are working for me to call my hubby, or simply waking up each and every morning knowing that I have yet another day to make a difference…

There are many ways of going through life. We can either complain about the rain, or we can rejoice about the rain that will bring us the rainbow. :)

What’s your way? :)
